Ellipse

Ellipse Tool
The Ellipse tool allows to draw round shapes (ellipses/circles).
The following steps show how to activate and use this tool:
On the Drawing Tools box, click the Ellipse button.
In response to this action, the tool becomes activated. The Option Selector box shows all available fill styles and border widths of the Ellipse tool:
In the Option Selector box, select the fill style of the Ellipse tool. You can choose one of the following styles:
- empty ellipse;
- outlined ellipse;
- filled ellipse;
- horizontal gradient. Use this style to create and draw horizontal gradients of round shape;
- vertical gradient. Use this style to create and draw vertical gradients of round shape;
Note. The fill style can be changed anytime while the Ellipse tool is activated.
In the Option Selector box, select the border width of the Rectangle tool. You can choose from 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 pixels width.
Notes.
The border width is used only for the following fill styles of the Ellipse tool: - empty ellipse and - outlined ellipse.
The border width can be changed anytime while the Ellipse tool is activated. Select tool's colors (foreground and background colors). See the "Foreground and Background colors" page for details.
Click the image on the starting point of the ellipse. See the Remark below for additional information.
Holding the mouse button down, drag the cursor to the diagonally opposite point (final point).
Release the mouse button.Note. To draw a circle, hold down SHIFT while dragging the cursor.
Remark.
When starting the drawing, apply the following rules according to the fill style:
For empty ellipse :
To draw the empty ellipse with the foreground color, use the left mouse button.
To draw the empty ellipse with the background color, use the right mouse button.
For outlined ellipse :
To draw the outlined ellipse border with the foreground color and fill the inside with the background color, use the left mouse button.
To draw the outlined ellipse border with the background color and fill the inside with the foreground color, use the right mouse button.
For filled ellipse :
To draw the filled ellipse with the foreground color, use the left mouse button.
To draw the filled ellipse with the background color, use the right mouse button.
For horizontal gradient :
To create and draw a horizontal gradient from the foreground color to the background color, use the left mouse button.
To create and draw a horizontal gradient from the background color to the foreground color, use the right mouse button.
Note. If the foreground and/or background color is set to screen or inverse color, the Ellipse tool works in the same way as it works for filled ellipse style.
For vertical gradient :
To create and draw a vertical gradient from the foreground color to the background color, use the left mouse button.
To create and draw a vertical gradient from the background color to the foreground color, use the right mouse button.Note. If the foreground and/or background color is set to screen or inverse color, the Ellipse tool works in the same way as it works for filled ellipse style.
